Our curriculum planning is grounded in the belief that learning should be fun. Each day's activities are carefully planned with the following educational and experiential objectives in mind.

Social Skills:
develop play/friendship skills such as initiating interactions and friendships or dealing with unpleasant social situations; learn how to negotiate conflict; gain awareness of similarities and differences of opinion, tradition, culture and ethnicity; distinguish acceptable from unacceptable classroom behavior; learn how to cooperate and work with others toward a common goal

increase familiarity with various forms and elements of art; contribute to the aesthetic environment of the school; explore art as a means of communicating ideas and feelings

fulfill curiosity through hands-on experiments; explore the physical world through a wide array of materials; discover cause and effect by drawing conclusions based on experiences with real objects

Math:
engage in number recognition and counting; experience mathematical tools in daily classroom routines; recognize or construct relationships among objects and events

Music and Creative Movement:
develop familiarity with various forms and elements of music; experiment with music related movements; explore own musical talents

interpret nonverbal, oral and written messages; experiment with language sounds, rhythm, volume, pitch and rhyme; experience foreign langugage through song, conversation and games

Motor Skills/Fitness:
gain confidence in using the body; enhance awareness of own body space; develop fundamental motor skills such as jumping, throwing, running and catching; develop finger/hand-eye coordination; use a variety of materials to develop these skills such as scissors, writing utensils, LEGOs and puzzles
